GAMM Student Chapter Science Slam 2025

The third GAMM Student Chapter Science Slam took place at the Ruhr University Bochum on 10th October 2025, organized by Michael Koch (TUHH), Christian Sellmann (Leibnitz University Hannover), Sebastian Wolf (Leibnitz University Hannover), Yannik Hüpel (TU Braunschweig), Mischa Blaszczyk (TU Braunschweig) and Hendrik Haddenhorst (RUB). The aim of the event was to promote the exchange and interconnection between GAMM Student Chapter groups of Bochum, Braunschweig, Hamburg, Hannover and Duisburg-Essen to give especially young academics an opportunity to present their research in a more casual scope.

After a joint lunch and the opening, the program started with a keynote talk from industry. Dr. Antonio Bräunche and Dr. Fabian Wagner presented their work as project leads at the at Boston Consulting Group, where they shared their insights on the value of AI in the industrial application context.

Following the keynote talk, ten speakers from the different Student Chapter groups presented topics in the fields of material modeling, performance engineering, applied mathematics and even architecture. Albeit the varying scientific background of the audience, all speakers successfully managed to give an insight into their research. To stay true to the idea of a Science Slam, some talks included jokes, memes, and even a rhyme. In the afternoon, the social program of the event began with a joint dinner in a local restaurant, before the groups returned home.

We would like to thank the GAMM for the financial support of the Student Chapters, making this event possible. Furthermore, we would like to thank Dr. Antonio Bräunche and Dr. Fabian Wagner from Boston Consulting Group, all the speakers and the local organizers for their valuable contributions to the event.
